Do you do in-person work?
Yes! If you live in the Western New York Area (Between Hamburg and Niagara Falls) I would be happy to provide in-person design services
Is your pricing different for in-person services?
Yes. For in-person services I charge a design fee of 20% of your total budget as well as 25% above net cost
What is percent above net cost?
Percentage above net cost is a method of charging in which I base my charges on what I, as a designer, actually pay for an item plus a pre-arranged percentage. Similar to a commission.
Am I paying more for an item this way?
No actually! As my client you will receive an item for a lot less than the retail price
Can you use this method in an example?
Of course! Let’s say I go to a trade-only showroom and purchase a sofa with a retail price of $1,000. The showroom gives me a trade discount of 40%, so the net cost is $600. I would bill it to my client at that net cost plus a 25% commission, which would make the couch $750. $250 less than what you would pay in the store
How long does it take you to come up with a design plan?
The initial design (mood board, color palette, etc.) will take anywhere between 48-72 hours. Edits typically take 24-48 hours, and sourcing the design items (wallpaper, furniture, etc.) will typically take another 48-72 hours. Once the entire plan is finalized, it should take another 24-48 hours to finish the design and prepare for your final presentation. All in all, around 10 days
How Far will you travel?
I am unfortunately unable to travel outside of the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area at this time
What types of rooms do you design?
All kinds of rooms! If you can dream it, I will do my best to achieve it
Do you do commercial properties?
I do not have experience in working with commercial properties, however, I am still learning and will one day add it to my repertoire of services
Can you use furniture that I already have?
Of course! By request, I can also include suggestions for how to upcycle any piece of furniture you have
Why should I choose you?
That's a good question! Although I am new to the field, I have a good eye for design and approach all of my projects without judgement or pretention. I love unique and fun ideas as well as themed rooms. Do you want a medieval Star Wars Kitchen? Let's do it! A monochrome pink bedroom? Sure! Nothing is too weird :)
